I have been working in private practice and school settings for over 13 years. I graduated from Cal Lutheran University Cum Laude, with a BA in Psychology, and then Pepperdine University with my masters in clinical psychology.. I went back to school later in life after a full career in small and corporate business. This experience has afforded me a wealth of knowledge from all sides of life. Be it business, family, children, or aging parents, I have experienced much of what happens in life.
One of my specialties is working with children and adolescents. In our society today, children are under more stress and pressure than ever before. The studies have shown that there is an increase in anxiety and depression in our children, which can cause behavioral issues such as acting out, to a decline in their academics at school. Children and adolescents, for the most part, do not have the skills or developmental capacity to overcome these feelings. I have had great success working with parents and children together in reducing and managing their distress.
I'm a eclectic therapist, which means I use different therapeutic techniques which best fit the needs of my client. With years of experience in private practice and school settings, I specialize in Play Therapy, CBT, Solution Focused, and Humanistic approaches.
Whether you have a child in need, an adult or senior needing help with parenting,
life transitions or anxieties, give me a call. I believe working together we can make a difference in creating a more passionate and joyful life.
